Accessibility statement
last reviewed
Our target, what is already built to meet it, and the audit work still ahead — stated plainly rather than as a conformance claim we have not earned yet.
Our target
Our target for this site is WCAG 2.2 Level AA. That is a target and an ongoing practice, not a certification: automated tooling catches roughly a third of real WCAG failures, so the check that actually matters is a manual one, and it has not been completed for this build yet. We would rather state that plainly than publish a bare conformance claim ahead of the work that would earn it.
What is built into this site today
Each of these is a specific, checkable build decision, not a general assurance.
- Keyboard navigation and focus
Every interactive element is reachable by keyboard with a single, visible focus style meeting 3:1 contrast — never outline: none without a replacement. The mobile menu is a native <details>/<summary> disclosure, not a scripted widget, so it is keyboard-operable by construction.
- Reduced motion
Animations and transitions collapse to near-zero duration when your system requests reduced motion. Nothing on the site autoplays or uses parallax.
- Colour contrast
Every text and interface-colour pairing, in both light and dark themes, is checked by an automated test against 4.5:1 for body text and 3:1 for large text and UI components — not spot-checked by eye.
- Zero client-side JavaScript on this page
This page, like every content page on the site, ships no JavaScript beyond a single deferred analytics request — nothing here depends on a script running for you to read or navigate it.
- The contact form
Persistent, visible labels rather than placeholder-as-label, works with JavaScript disabled, and announces its submission status to screen readers.
- Structure and landmarks
A skip-to-content link, one heading level 1 per page, and header, nav, main and footer landmarks on every template.
